"Prolonging the Drive: The Importance of Regular Oil Changes"

The Heart of Your Vehicle

Consider your engine as the heart of your car, pumping life into every component. Just as your heart relies on blood for optimal functioning, your engine depends on clean and properly lubricated oil to operate at its best. Over time, however, oil breaks down and accumulates contaminants, leading to decreased efficiency and potential damage.

How Often is Often Enough?

One common question we receive is, "How often should I get my oil changed?" A great rule of thumb is every 3,000 or every three months. This is always what we will suggest. Now while some manufacturers might say your vehicle doesn’t need an oil change till 6,000 miles/6 months or even more, we don’t recommend this. WHY? You might ask, the reason is that over time, as your vehicle’s engine runs through its regular heating and cooling cycle it builds up condensation in the oil, turning the oil the brown color, we’ve all seen before. As you may know water in the engine oil passages building up can lead to damage, so that is why we suggest 3,000 Miles or 3 Months. Also, Engine oil that has been left in the engine for too long oftentimes leads to a thick gunky substance that gets spread all across the engine components. This gunk can and will lead to engine damage.

The Benefits of Regular Oil Changes

  1. Engine Protection: Clean oil acts as a barrier, preventing friction and wear between engine components. Regular oil changes help protect your engine from premature damage and ensure it operates at peak performance.

  2. Improved Fuel Efficiency: Fresh oil reduces engine friction, contributing to better fuel efficiency. A well-lubricated engine doesn't have to work as hard, resulting in improved gas mileage.

  3. Extended Engine Life: Proper maintenance, including regular oil changes, can significantly extend the lifespan of your vehicle's engine. This will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Remember, regular oil changes are not just about maintaining your vehicle; they're an investment in its longevity and performance. Schedule your next oil change with Excursions and experience the difference of a well-lubricated, efficiently running engine.
